Grade School Basketball Teams To Be Recognized
On Friday, January 27th, the boys and girls basketball teams from Sheridan Grade School, Serena Grade School, and Harding Grade School will be recognized during the High School boys game.
The three girls teams will be introduced at halftime of the sophomore game, approximately 6:15 p.m., and the boys teams will be introduced at halftime of the varsity game, approximately 7:30 p.m.
All grade school players and coaches will be admitted into the game at no charge.

Kindergarten Registration will be February 9th.
We are having kindergarten registration on Thursday February 9th in each of our grade schools from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. It is very important for us to attain accurate information regarding numbers per building and student needs in order to plan for next school year. If you plan on having your kindergarten age student attend CUSD #2 schools, please plan on attending the registration program at your child’s attendance center. If you have any questions as to which school to attend, call the District office at (815) 496-2850.
Children must be age five on or before September 1, 2012 in order to attend kindergarten for the 2012-13 school year. Parents will need to bring a CERTIFIED COPY of their son/daughter’(s) birth certificate on February 9.
All incoming kindergarten students must have a dental and physical examination prior to the first day of school. Your child does not have to have the examinations to register. The physical examination must have proof of MMR and DTP immunizations; proof of lead and diabetes screenings, proof of having received one dose of chicken pox vaccine (varicella) on or after the first birthday. Students are now required to complete the Hepatitis B series of shots before they attend school.

Citizens National Bank Announces Serena Huskers Debit Card.
Citizens National Bank is promoting a new program. It is a debit card with the Serena High School logo. The cost of signing up for the card is $10, Citizens National will donate $5 of the sign up fee to the Serena High School Boosters Club. You may attach the card to a new account or to an existing account. The logo was developed by Serena High School student Holly Anderson. The logo that will appear on the card is presented.
